Americast Technologies is a world leader in the design, manufacture and supply of highly-engineered steel and iron sand castings, machined components and assemblies. Americast produces large and difficult-to-manufacture parts and is a critical supplier to Fortune 50 manufacturers in the locomotive, mass transit, mining, agricultural equipment, construction, energy and heavy-duty truck industries. Ameridan's Role:

In the fall of 2003, KPS Special Situations Funds was exploring a possible acquisition of the Company. KPS retained Ameridan to provide strategic and competitive due-diligence.

Ameridan's due-diligence engagement focused on assessing: (a) the quality and uniqueness of the Company's capabilities relative to competitors; (b) depth of current customer relationships and customer support post reorganization; and (3) the outlook for purchases of the Company's products in 2004.

The engagement was completed in November, 2003.
